Mount Everest is located in Asia continent. And to answer - Where is Mount Everest Located? (It is a bit trickier) - The correct answer is that, the Mount Everest is located in the - Mahalangur Range (not Nepal or China instead ... Both Nepal & China). And what that means is - Everest is one of the four giant mountains that acts as a border between Nepal and China (Tibet). Which are collectively known as, The Mahalangur range.

01: Mahalangur Range

Mount Everest is located in the Mahalangur Range (27 degree 59' North Latitude, 86 degree 55' East Longitudes). The range lies between the border of China - Tibet Autonomous Region (SouthEast) and Nepal (North). The name - "EVEREST" came after the Welsh Land surveyor General 'Sir George Everest'.

02: Nepal

A huge portion of Everest is Located in the Khumbu Region of Nepal. It is called - "SAGARMATHA" in native language of Nepal. It means - "FOREHEAD OF THE SKY". Tourists can trek upto Everest Base Camp (5,364m/17,598ft) in less than 14 days. Yearly, More than 40000 tourists trek to the Base Camp.

03: China

Mt. Everest is called - "CHUMULANGMA" in Chinese & translates to - "Goddess Mother of Mountains". It is much harder to ascend from Tibet side and because of this - climbers opt. in to climb from Nepal side. Tourists can trek to the North side of Tibet Everest Base Camp (5,200m/17,060ft).
